Biography

Robert Callahan’s aggressive style of advocacy is a product of Baylor Law School’s trial-centered education and his experience as a prosecutor. His oratory skills are well known throughout the courtrooms of central Texas.

Robert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. After he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2006, Robert joined the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office where he excelled. He was quickly promoted to a misdemeanor Court Chief position, then promoted again to prosecute felony crimes.

In 2011, Robert entered private practice with a vision to serve the people of central Texas. In 2012, he was nominated Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the McLennan County Young Lawyer’s Association. In 2016, he was named one of the National Black Lawyers’ Top 100 Lawyers, and in 2020 he was named the Top Criminal Defense Attorney in the State of Texas, receiving the Percy Foreman Award.

Robert believes that every person has value, and everyone accused of breaking the law deserves affordable legal representation. With that in mind, Callahan & King aspires to meet the needs of every client as a whole person. Robert’s goal is not simply to represent his clients, but to work with them to address the spiritual and emotional needs behind the legal issues. Robert, his wife, and three children live and work in McLennan County.
