Kayla graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hardin Simmons University, where she double majored in English and Psychology. Afterwards, she graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University School of Law. During law school, Kayla was a board member of the Immigration Initiative, as well as the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. She wrote for the Texas A&M Law Review and served as the President of the Christian Legal Society. Kayla is also a graduate of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association Trial College.
Kayla worked part time while in law school at various internships, including Mosaic Family Services. She interned with seasoned prosecutors and defense attorneys in Fort Worth. However, her work with a family-based immigration firm in Dallas created a passion that continues to drive her. Upon graduation, Kayla was highly sought after by the partners of Callahan & King.
Kayla cares deeply about each of her clients. Her practice areas include Criminal Defense, Immigration, and Family law. Kayla is passionate about every person being treated with kindness and respect. She volunteered her time throughout law school with UnBound and now provides pro bono legal services for survivors of domestic minor human trafficking through UnBound (www.unboundnow.org).
Kayla and her husband live in Waco with their rambunctious puppy, Champ, and two delightful cats, Newt and River.
